　　- CUPS 1.7.0

In Ubuntu 13.10 is CUPS 1.7rc1 currently, with all fixes and
improvements from CUPS 1.6.4 added as patch. 1.7.0 was released the day
after the new Mac OSX, which was after the Ubuntu 13.10 release.

Ghostscript is 9.10 now, as two times a show stopper bug was discovered
right after release, requiring a new release.

The transition did not happen yet in 13.10, as it still caused too many
problems during some weeks of test period. So the switchover is
postponed to 14.04 for now.

Could you update Ubuntu Saucy's Release note about a printing stack
by information you described below?

We, printer vendors and system integraters using Ubuntu, want to
know how printing stack had changed in Saucy, and try to check
(Japanese) printing functionality.

We are using CUPS 1.7rc1 with all changes of CUPS 1.6.4 added as patch.
1.7.0 final mwas only published together with Mac OS X Mavericks, some
days after the Ubuntu 13.10 release.

Ghostscript is 9.10 currently. The Ghostscript developers had to release
quickly two more times as the releases contained show stopper bugs.

MIR is postponed to 14.04, as during some weeks of testing in the 13.10
deveklopemt cycle there were still too many problems.

Here is the meeting minutes of the last OPJ meeting.
Sorry to delay posting.

Place: Fuji Xerox R&D Squre in Yokohama Minato-Mirai
participants: Toratani (Canon), Ohtani (BBR), Chigusa (Ricoh),

Ogasawara (MIS), Owa (Fuji Xerox), Mihara (Fuji Xerox)

(1) Successor of the Coordinator

Making it a rotating basis

Canon (next) ->BBR->FX->Ricoh->Canon...

Meeting Place: LFJ (contact Yasufuku-san, Cc to Sato-san)

(2) Future Plan

Meeting (offline) will be done twice a year (June and December).

Printing summits are usually held in April or May. (next: May 13 to 16)
To review the outcome from the summits, next meeting will be in June.

Till: please let us know the agenda of the meeting when it is available.

UPDATE: The meeting will be shifted to August.

Currently we have no major problem on Linux printing. As to specific
troubles, we can report them to development teams.
